STORMY SEASON

Well the weather was bad to begin with
The air was wet and dripping noisily
All the city ever did was cast a shadow
Your old dolls scare the hell out of me
You were with me all the way to st. louis
When the rain first started to fall
But the weather was bad to begin with
And above the rain I can't hear you at all

The weather was bad to begin with
All the flags were flapping in the wind
I mean the flags that you had hung from lampposts
The ones that always got beneath my skin
The dark clouds were back from the ocean
Opened up to welcome in the crows
But the weather was bad to begin with
And that's just the way the wind blows.

The weather was bad to begin with
On the dirty ground the rain looked like blood
The dolls kept appearing like raindrops
And I prayed to God I'd die in the flood
I always feel as though I'm stuck in commercials
For something that I don't want to buy
But the weather was bad to begin with
And it'll stay that way until the day you die
