Get it on
Storm Shadow

The town has been put down to bed
The cats are in the yard
The lights are out on Tanglewood
The fences stand on guard
Against the rustling branches
You can hear another sound
The rumble of the trains that won't
Be coming back to town
Ring around the rosy
The moon is red tonight
The street lights and I whisper
"goodnight, my love, goodnight."

The store is on the corner
The church is on the hill
There's nothing in my wallet
But a couple dollar bills
the mouse is in the corridor
the clothes are on the floor
the milk comes every Friday
they leave it at the door
The wind will put the candles out
So don't turn down the light
The cold wind and I whisper
"Good night, my love, good night"

We're running out of apple juice
The flowers ceased to grow
The last farm in the county
Was sold two years ago
There's still a bit of coffee
At the bottom of the glass
The fire is in the fireplace
The embers slowly pass
Sing a song of winter
when all the grounds are white
The embers and I whisper
"good night, my love, good night"

The cracks are in the sidewalk
The birds are on the line
Far above the dirty ground
The stars of Boston shine
Every day I wake up
And stumble down the stairs
To find the last road out of town
Has been closed for repairs
So put your arms around me
And close your eyes so tight
Chicago and I whisper
"goodnight, my love, good night"
