NEWS AND UPDATES: 22 April 2008 12 April 2008 Entries to the BE A PIRATE CONTEST are up in a new gallery! Entries are still coming in, so there's plenty of time to enter! Enter the BE A PIRATE CONTEST and earn Indie Street Cred Points that can be traded for valuable prizes!! Updates on the contest will be posted here! 8 April 2008 PIRATES is here - YAARRRRR! Four promo videos have been put up on youtube! Put 'em on your blog, facebook...anything! Or make your own! In the process of remembering all the jobs I had over the years for one of them, I ended up moving "Adventures of a Pizza Driving Detective" to the shorts section, since it sort of reads like a short story. Sort of makes a good companon piece for "Pirates," in a way. 7 April 2008 Teenspace calls Pirates of the Retail Wasteland "as invigorating and smoothly satisfying as a good caffe latte." Best simile ever! There's also some new stuff over on the dates page, and it looks like I'm JUST notable enough to be on Wikipedia now! Also, one of the best parts of my last two albums with the Revolving Door All-Stars has been the backup vocals (it certainly hasn't been MY vocals!). Vixy now has an album out with her duo, Vixy and Tony, and it's GREAT. In other Revolving Door All-Stars news, Jeff the Accordion/Guitar player (you can tell his guitar parts from mine because his are good) is now officially a lawyer! I'm totally gonna buy him a powdered wig. There's an alarming number of wig shops within walking distance of my apartment. 4 March 2008 Pirates of the Retail Wasteland is reviewed on bookslut today! 28 February 2008 Booklist has sent the first review of Pirates of the Retail Wasteland! 22 February 2008 The new Weird Chicago Blog is now up - check it out! It'll feature contributions from me, Troy Taylor and Ken Melvoin Berg about the history and ghosts of Chicago. Also, in addition to pre-ordering Pirates of the Retail Wasteland on amazon, you can pre-order the paperback edition of How To Get Suspended and Influence People,, which will be out in September, around the same time as I Put a Spell On You! 4 February 2008 Just a couple of months til Pirates of the Retail Wasteland is out!
